Kim & Chang and Pepeliaev Group, a Russian law firm, held a joint seminar on doing business in Russia at Seoul Global Center on December 18, 2014.

At this seminar, attorneys and industry experts at Kim & Chang and Pepeliaev Group specializing in customs, tax and cross-border disputes were invited as speakers and panel members to provide guidelines on successful investment in Russia to Korean companies.

Dong-Seok (Johan) Oh of our firm introduced the speakers and panel members and summarized the main issues of each session.  Attorneys from Pepeliaev Group led the presentation and Sup Joon Byun and Dong Jun Yeo participated as panel members in each session titled, “The Judicial System in Russia as a Tool for Resolving Disputes” and “Foreign investments: Tax Disputes in Russia,” respectively.  Chin Heon Park and Kwang Yeoun Hwang led discussions during the session on “Resolving Customs Disputes.”

After the presentation and discussion, Chang-Heon (Charles) Kwak of our firm together with the speakers of Pepeliaev Group held a Q&A session about the current Russian investment environment.
