On June 8, 2019, Jong Myung Lee, an attorney in Kim & Chang’s Tax Practice, participated as a panelist at the 25th Spring Academic Symposium hosted by the Korean Society of Tax Law.
During the symposium’s discussion, Mr. Lee stated: “Considering that an ‘incorrect tax invoice’ only means that some of the required items of the tax invoice are different from the truth, while a ‘bogus tax invoice’ means that there was no actual transaction in the beginning, there is a problem that the same level of sanctions are being imposed on both when the two are quite different in nature.”
Various tax experts participated in the symposium held at Yonsei University to examine key issues regarding VAT.
