Kim & Chang recently hosted a webinar on recent environmental issues and corporate response strategy in Korea.  In light of the environmental restrictions which gained recent attention as a core issue towards corporate management along with Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) discussions, the webinar was organized to provide an overview on the recent environmental issues and relevant response strategies that corporates are advised to take.

Conducted in two sessions, in Korean and English respectively, the webinar took an in-depth look at the trends in environmental regulations and compliance as well as major changes and developments in the Environmental Crimes Act.  New environmental regulations and corresponding response measures by corporations were also analyzed from both theoretical and practical perspectives.  Along with these topics, the webinar provided a useful opportunity for sharing response strategies that corporates can implement.

For the Korean session held on June 22, 2021, attorneys Hyeong Jun Hwang, Min Seo Hwang and In Hwan Jun from Kim & Chang’s environment team participated as speakers, while Chung Seop Lee (senior advisor) and Yoon Jeong Lee (attorney) participated as the opening speaker and moderator, respectively.  For the English session held on July 6, 2021, attorneys Jay J. Kim, Kyle Choi and June Lee participated as speakers, while Jong Soo Yoon (senior advisor) and Christine Nam (attorney) participated as the opening speaker and moderator, respectively.
